From the Managing Partner

I love to collect simple, but powerful and inspirational stories. Here's one of my favorites. It seems appropriate for the holiday season.

A young man was made to hammer a nail into a fence each time he lost his temper, alienating and hurting others. Quickly the fence was filled with nails, a tangible manifestation of his anger. As an incentive to thoughtfulness, each time the boy didn't lose his temper, he was allowed to remove a nail from the fence. The boy soon found that removing a nail from the fence required as much if not more effort than driving one into it. His demeanor improved so much that there came a day when there came a day when there were no more nails left in the fence. However he discovered that the holes in the fence remained.

Be kind, be patient be considerate--the holes cannot be repaired.
