Some taxpayers have been receiving e-mails that look like official notices from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). THE IRS DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH TAXPAYERS VIA E-MAIL! These e-mails may contain viruses and should not be opened. Please delete immediately from your in-box.
The IRS will never send an e-mail regarding your taxes or request your personal information, such as social security, bank account, credit card or pin numbers, via e-mail.
