Updated Form I-9 required for use April 3, 2009

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) announced the release of a revised Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification. The purpose of this form is to document that each new employee is authorized to work in the United States.
The new Form I-9 must be used for all new hires, and those current employees who are subject to re-verification, on or after April 3, 2009. The new Form I-9 and instructions for completing the form can be downloaded from the CIS website http://www.uscis.gov/i-9.
Reminder:
The Employment Development Department also requires notification of all new employees. To fulfill this requirement, file Form DE 34, Report of New Employee(s).
