New Form I-9

On November 7, 2007, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) announced the release of a revised Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification. The purpose of this form is to document that each new employee is authorized to work in theUnited States.
The new Form I-9 must be used for all new hires, and those current employees who are subject to re- verification, on or after November 7, 2007.
The new Form I-9 and instructions for completing the form can be downloaded from the CIS website at www.uscis.gov/I- 9.
Reminder:
The Employment Development Department also requires notification of all new employees. To fulfill this requirement, fileForm DE 34, Report of New Employee(s).
