Money & Health: Former CEO of Federal Reserve Bank Spoke on "Life After Greenspan"

Event also highlighted a powerful presentation on prostate cancer by City of Hope physician.

Beverly Hills, California-May 11, 2006- Dr. Robert Parry, Past President and former CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank and Dr. Mark Kawachi, City of Hope physician, Director of the Prostate Cancer Program spoke on money and health with friends and clients of NSBN LLP (www.nsbn.com) of Beverly Hills, as part of their NSBN Gives Back program, at a breakfast held at the Skirball Cultural Center on April 27, 2006.

In "Life after Greenspan: A Former Policymaker's Perspective" economist Parry said, "I think we're going to have a good year." We are in capable hands with Bernanke; he will continue the Greenspan legacy, he is committed to the Fed goal of price stability. He spoke about forecasts: "Housing and consumer spending will not be the stars they've been in the past, the main growth will come from business investment in plant and equipment inventories"; Rate Increases: "In June, there is a 70% chance of a rate increase, depending on the performance of the economy"; Katrina: "Katrina was more of a detriment to our economy than 9/11"; Fed Funds "will be over 5% at the end of 2006"; International Trade: "the growth of China means an increasing demand for goods and services from developed countries." Parry ended by saying, "Alan Greenspan clearly is leaving a rich legacy".

Dr. Kawachi presented a film about the new, minimally invasive da Vinci prostatectomy, with a demonstration of the actual surgery in progress. This method incorporates the latest advancements in robot-assisted technology that allows surgeons to perform complex surgeries with greater visualization and precision while speeding patient recovery. Prostate Cancer affects 235,000 men in the U.S. each year.

Attendee comments included:
"Dr. Parry and Dr. Kawachi provided a 1-2 knockout punch that wowed the audience... The speakers were excellent and the audience questions were the best I have ever heard from an audience...The doctor was very moving - really puts everything into perspective."
